Day 4

No riding on Day 3 just family visits which were long overdue as we haven't been out this way in years.  Unfortunate I didn't get to see my favorite Aunt since she's off touring the UK at the moment but otherwise was a wonderful stop.

Char was excited to get on the road as our destination today is Revelstoke where her Brother Rob and his girlfriend Keri now call home.  It's been two years since Char's seen Rob which is far to long for her liking.

The forecast today looked favorable for most of our travels with a possibility of showers for our arrival in Revelstoke, I need to find that weather man and have a chat with him.  We got hammered with weather from Banff all the way through to Revelstoke including rain, hail and wind but we soldiered through, although it did take away a lot of the scenery we were hoping to enjoy along the way.

A brief glimpse of the mountains in the distance as we leave my Cousin's home in the SW part of Calgary.

Since we weren't under a time crunch today we opted to take Route 1A from Calgary to Canmore instead of the Transcanada.  Can't imagine you'd have to pull over and wait while two cowboys on horses rustled up three stray bulls on the Transcanada!

We stopped for about an hour in Banff to take a stroll and look in several over priced trinket stores.

Missed out on the BC border photo as I completely missed it in between torrential downpours, Char noticed just as we blew by and snapped a quick shot.

When someone tells you they live in a little hole in the wall do you figure this is what they mean?

This is the view from the back step of Rob's home, pretty incredible view on the Columbia river. Apparently when the clouds lift you get a great view of Mount Begbie.

Mileage covered today was 441.4 km and our trip total is now 1855.2 km.
